The QPC MIG can be configured to work with both a 'hot' and 'warm' backup system. In the 'hot' configuration two servers are used simultaneously and if one fails the second will activate automatically without missing any data. In a 'warm' arrangement the second server is continuously available but is activated manually.

Having a backup system makes sure that the QPC MIG is available continuously for business critical applications.
