Simon Cartwright and John Callegari are embarking on a fundraiser by completing the Kokoda Trek.
Quality Plus Callscan’s (QPC) Managing Director Simon Cartwright and Operations Manager John Callegari are embarking on a Kokoda Trek. The journey starts on the 19th and finishes on the 30th September this year. Simon and John hope to raise $5,000 for children with cancer charity - Camp Quality.

The original 155km wartime Kokoda Trek takes 10 days to complete. It is seen as iconic to Australia, and has been described as arguably one of the world’s hardest treks. When asked reasons for completing this trek, Simon stated, “It will be a great honour and a humbling experience to retrace the footsteps of the Diggers who fought for Australian freedom and in a very small way to share the conditions and terrain that they operated in.” As it will be a great physical challenge, both have been in training for months and have included hill walking with weighted rucksacks into their routines.

John regards the Trek as “a personal physical challenge and the opportunity to do something out of the ordinary. It’s also a bit of a tribute to the Australian soldiers who had to endure some horrible conditions while fighting the Japanese forces in PNG during WW2.”

Both are looking forward to contributing to a very worthwhile cause for the Children benefitting from the efforts of the Camp Quality charity.

Help donate so that they can reach their target of $5,000 and view their journey photos at: http://www.campquality.org.au/events/vic/simon-and-john-kokoda-trek.aspx
